[Historical, best played against human opponent]
Location : Walcheren Island .

The taking of the Antwerp harbour facilities in September
1944 was considered very important to Allied High Command. It's
harbour was primordial for the continuation of the offensive.
Up untill then all supplies were still coming from the Normandy beaches!

British 21st Army Group neglected however to clear the approaches to
the harbour! As long as these were not secure, no allied supply ships
could unload at the docks. The germans had also realised this and had
heavily fortified the southern (Breskens pocket) and northern
approaches (Walcheren and Zuid-Beveland) So a three pronged attack
was devised. 'Vitality' was to be the ground attack aimed at
Zuid-Beveland, Infatuate I was to seize Vlissingen and Infatuate
II was the attack on Westkapelle. In preparation for the attacks
on Walcheren, Bomber Command had been bombarding the dykes to
obtain breaches at desired locations. 4th Special Service brigade
was tasked with taking Westkapelle whose the landing-areas were
divided in Tare Red, White and Green. The commandos were given
ample support by tanks of 79th (specialised) Armoured division,
the Royal Navy, 21st Army Group artillery and RAF's 83rd Group.
In front of them lay the German defenders of 70th Infantry Division
supported by the heavy coastal guns of the Kriegsmarine's 202nd
Artillerie Abteilung. But the preliminary bombardment had alerted
the Germans, this meant that if something went wrong, the attack
could easily degrade to a disaster.

Notes on version 1.3 :

Map was changed to reflect a more appropriate breach of the dyke.
This will allow faster movement for the Buffaloes.

Notes on version 1.4 :

- Victory conditions have been altered
- Allied supply has been altered
- German forces now benefit from more reinforcements

Notes on version 1.5 :

- Map has been slightly altered to hamper travelling through the water
- Allied supply has been lowered
- Allied off-shore artillery has been diminished
- German forces' beach defences are slightly strenthened

Personal note :
---------------
Some players may find this a tedious scenario and others will find it a blast! I'm not one to argue over this! Some testers have remarked that the absence of german tanks hampers the game, but the fact is that no German tanks were present in the defence of Walcheren!
